Visualize a world with numerous climate disasters. How would you deal with half the country and where you live under water? That’s not all imagine being or of the world under a dust bowl! Wait until you experience it along with Julia Brandt Cooper her driver and Felix.
It gets more dangerous as they encounter not only changes in the climate and weather but people trying to overtake them and their limo needs to speed to safer conditions.
As the weather gets more dangerous and Julia wants to see outside the windows the scenes spiral in many directions as the winds blow up the rain pours and a daughter of a passenger shows up injured. Lives at stake as Cooper creates a miracle finding their way to the inner bunker Sanctuary wait until you experience how. Then the winds are worse the plane is taken slowly inside the hangar each person given a mask due to the sand, dust and wind and taken slowly to the house by foot. Reactions are different and Julia seems to not get or care about the gravity of the disaster and another hired to get her and her daughter Maia getting their things in place and one wants to check out the kitchen for dinner food.
Meet Julian Brant as he sits at the head of a table with those loyal to him and yet not really believe Cooper who he comments about or even Felix who has been so honest and loyal.
The weather impedes their mission as Brandt sends them out for cream for his coffee but things get violent and Cooper is hurt and the sadness about his loss hurts many. They now have to leave and are instructed to stay silent as they are led inside and a killer us lose lives are in danger will Grady manage to take this kid down in it gets frightening as events are violent inside the bunker. People screaming and a baby in trouble as Alma places it in a big bed. Then things explode and everyone must get out as the bunker is not safe and Jeremy the young son of the Julian is hurt. Then they are lucky to have water and another in the foyer dead. Trouble and Jacob the sturdy shooter and later and took that rifle from Jacob and check for more weapons. Ron Haden why does he need a gun? Then inventory the food it he’s worse. Day 21 read the passage above to the killer. Perfectly stated.
Maia seems to be reminded of the Bible in study group and learn more about her reasoning then copied some of the passages into her journal. Then the author shares Gavins history of how he came to work for Brandt and who else cim scaling and why. It gets more intense as everyone has an opinion but day 26 ends in total darkness. Will the generators work? Generators not coming in and Jeremy had an attack of fear and then Mrs. Krajic what happened to her? What is the outcome?
Then the news as the commander in chief of the New Republic Forces speaks out and lives will change. Shutting down entire country and a long-term grid collapse would be catastrophic.
Then a huge energy shortage and the Brandt system back on but Maia is about to experience the most horrific and devastating experience of her life. While this reaction was nit dust pneumonia it is worse. Gardens often are sprayed with pesticides thus one was too and her diagnosis was poison from pesticides. Maia was with Hannah and another revelation made as the writer of the journal speaks out and unfortunately Maia’s mom it’s too late even thought this type if poison is treatable.
Next we hear Flynn and radio frequencies and what if two adults the Ford at the end behind two trucks taking the gas why and how long will they survive?
Then chasing the truck and wait until you see who it was. Who is Joyce McClure then a huge explosion gun started then stopped why stop firing at them??
Then more harsh truths and read 37 you’ll be shocked. No flashlight no way to see outside and no more Wood Lake, Crookston, Rushville , Hay Springs Fieldings or Chadton all burned down. Once she meaning McClure got past Chadron no one.
Then meet Amelia and Rosina and the baby then washing her. Page 185 sad as they place the shroud around her. Day 481 sad
Then present the bunker and infirmary plus Maia helping Michael and Flynn. Then Julia near Flynn and her words to Maia. Nate and Kyle gone and quarantine room. Sad more deaths.
Day 371 read it. Part 2 is 11 months and 17 days later. This part embraces what the people in the bunker are still going through and more deaths, heat food and who is still there. It gets more intense as we see the time go by and hear Brandt and his words. Theses chapters encompass what they endure and is this really a safe place and Sanctuary IS IT?
Altercations and then Julia and Maia a touching scene and encounter but the others out for battle and more. How much longer will they be there and will they get others to help inside? A tank that they need, Alma and Gavin and a touching scene Hannah, Maia and Julia. Books are great to bring people together.
More flames, bunker, shots and Alma and Gavin tank then is it going?

Read more as the fireball blasted sideways and then the bunker 18 Much more they will endure as the characters felt a silence among themselves. Then 75 was it time to leave sanctuary for Grady, Alma and Jacob plus Juan?
Coming to Crawford Butte the sight they saw was awful dead body and driving out of there then a gunshot heading south. Each place more dangerous and shots fired where will it end or will they return to the sanctuary?
More gunfire and one if their team gone. Horror. Then inside the bunker and what was terrifying wrong?
Worse conditions and Maia mechanical room tunnel opening read 82 dangerous yet enlightening. An overheard conversation and children’s lives at stake will Julia help What will Brandt’s plan be and will it be carried out?
Dupree the gun barrel and put her in a cell why is agent Schaefer in a cell?
John nine of your business and 90 where is Dupree? Everything is coming to more violence and Jeremy is about to do something but there is more before part 2 is over.
It’s tragic , violent and only one person left us two kids that were adopted by Schaefer and an ending in the last part that will shock you as the people and military there find the bunker but what was left ? Sad but tragic and lives lost as this Sanctuary ends in more ways than one. An author that reminds us of how lucky we are to live in a world not like the one described but there are places that are kosher with dust bowls and mire. Sanctuary: yes, or know?
