The Dogs of Revenge: Tucker Mayer

The Dogs of Revenge
A dangerous mission is set in motion over a single briefcase housing secret documents—a truth U.S. Executive Officer Dave Litton learns the hard way. Out of nowhere, a relentless “Fixer” named Donahue arrives demanding the briefcase. Donahue is a sadistic predator who inflicts horrific tortures on Litton, stopping at nothing even when Litton offers to reveal its location.
Donahue isn’t the only one hunting for the prize. A calculating state senator—confined to a wheelchair by the same man who originally took the briefcase from Edmund Santes in Colombia—believes its contents will crush her political opposition. Her target is Pete Zwicker, who killed Santes and his son. Knowing Pete’s weakness, the senator instructs her operative, Jacobs, to kidnap Pete’s wife, Dr. Carly Winter, with the vicious Gunilla taking charge of the abduction. Meanwhile, in Guerrero, Mexico, the head of a brutal drug cartel, El Mencho, is also after the briefcase. After orchestrating a horrific massacre of local teachers and burying the evidence in trenches to intimidate the local police chief, El Mencho issues his ultimate order: find the briefcase and bring him Pete Zwicker.
As the net tightens, financial audits uncover an unidentified two-million-dollar payment linked to Pete’s associate, Bill Buckworth. Before Pete can secure his assets and reach his wife, Carly is ambushed in an emergency room, beaten, and thrown into the trunk of a car. When local police ignore his pleas and detain him instead, Pete turns to “Pop” Morris Tanner, who equips him with two secret phones—one connected to a tech specialist named Sean, and the other directly to the President, who also wants the briefcase.
Determined to save Carly, Pete confronts the senator at her office and navigates a deadly web of players, including the wealthy and arrogant Winifred “Winnie” Whetstone and an operative known as the Gray Man. His investigation leads him to a prison visit with Commander McClellan, the last person known to hold the briefcase before Dave Litton. Pete soon uncovers why everyone is desperate to get their hands on it: the documents expose high-level drug money laundering involving the Federal Reserve and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Armed by his friend Hoop, Pete barely survives a deadly airport ambush that claims Hoop’s life. As the pursuit escalates, Pete and Winnie are captured and subjected to disturbing interrogations over millions in owed money before being released on one condition: deliver the briefcase.
Behind the scenes, alliances fracture and the true identity of the Fixer comes to light. Pop Tanner makes a midnight call to El Mencho as Pete races against the clock to rescue Carly from her captors. When Carly is finally located, she refuses to be a passive victim, fighting back fiercely against Gunilla. In an explosive climax involving passwords, a staggering fortune worth more than twenty-five lifetimes, and a shocking newspaper exposé in the Bradenton Herald, the truth finally comes out. You will have to read to the very end—and through the gripping epilogue—to see who ultimately claims the briefcase, where the money goes, and whether the nightmare is truly over.
